20.10 THOSE PESKY PIRATES- HOW TO VERIFY THAT PURCHASES ARE REAL
Faked in-app purchases are the scourge of any revenue analysis. Once downloaded, an app is running on a device that the end user controls - meaning that if the end user decides to spoof the receipts and responses from app store servers, there's little that can be done within the app to detect it. When faked purchases hits your analytics platform, your ability to understand your revenues and, crucially, how to increase them diminishes.
Double-checking purchases on servers outside of the app is the only way to have truly accurate revenue data. In this talk, the company's Head of Communications will discuss the different ways you can analyze and verify in-app purchases, and how the app's marketing team could revenue analysis with or without verified purchases.
